500th Year Tradition of the Decorated Christmas Tree
Janet Wecker Frisch
"A Continuing Chirstmas Tradition"
Set of 6 Glass Ornaments
Price: $75.00
The most well known of all the Christmas traditions - decorating the Christmas tree - is said to have its origins in Riga, Latvia, 500 years ago in 1510. A tree was placed in the public marketplace and decorated by the men of the Order of the Blackhead, which is a long time merchant's guild. Legend has it that the tree was decorated with paper flowers honoring the Virgin Mary.
Each ornament displays original artwork of J. Wecker Frisch, depicting the decorating styles typical during each century beginning with 1500's. The back of each ornament tells the significance of the decorations of that era. Each ornament is hand crafted glass and is adorned with a 500 year commemorative charm and decorative tassel.
Offered by Fine Art Ltd., an official licensee of the National Christmas Tree Association. A portion of the proceeds supports the Christmas Spirit Foundation a 501(c)(3) charitable organization that helps to spread the Spirit of Christmas year round for kids, families and the environment. The entire set is being offered for $75 plus shipping, handling and all applicable sales tax.
